High-Level Overview of the System
The Beeftech Abattoir Management System is a robust solution for managing operations within an abattoir and extending to meat processing, deboning, butchery, and point of sale. Key features include:
- Real-time Operations Monitoring: Provides managers with up-to-the-minute data on stock levels, sales, and dispatch activities.
- Comprehensive Traceability: Ensures full traceability of animals and products throughout the process, from registration to final sale, using various tagging and labeling methods.
- Integrated Modules: Consists of various mainline sections like Abattoir Management, Wholesale/Dispatch, Deboning, Butchery, and Point of Sale, all controlled by a central Manager module.
- Financial Integration: Prevents double data capturing by integrating with selected accounting programs and provides detailed financial reporting.
- Efficient Stock Management: Supports controlled stock movement, real-time stock levels, and efficient stock-taking processes.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Utilizes Business Intelligence (BI) for in-depth drill-down reporting and analytical capabilities, supporting informed management decisions.
Detailed Features of Abattoir Management and Meat Processing
Abattoir Management System (Meat Processing)
- Manager Module: The central control point for all functions within the complete meat processing system, from abattoir operations to point of sale. It allows managers to monitor dispatch, real-time stock levels and values, sales data, and access in-depth drill-down reports.
- Dispatch: Facilitates controlled stock movement using flexible picking list sub-systems that support Bill of Material (BOM). It ensures verification of correct products for the correct customer, checking by animal type/product, grading, cut of meat, and lot number. Orders are refreshed in real-time and removed upon invoicing, with bar-coded scanning to prevent errors and audible feedback for noisy environments.
- Classification: Provides meat classification officials with a list of scheduled slaughters, enabling them to select lots for classification. Features include audible feedback, field-by-field validation based on animal type, valid animal number range checks, and bar-coded scanning to prevent errors.
- Make Label: This high-speed and efficient component of the processing room adds completed products to the stock system and prints marking labels for packaged goods ready for resale. Also the base from where a traceablr QR code for the consumers convenience is generated.
- Stock Take: Features a high-speed algorithm allowing scanning of items on shelves and in fridges without weighing every item, though work-in-progress items may require weighing. The system supports multiple stock-take sessions, original and recount availability, interactive stock reconciliation, and moving misplaced items to correct locations during stock take.
- Integration: Supports full integration to selected accounting programs to avoid redundant data entry and maintains separation between own stock and third-party slaughtered stock. The system also integrates with external financial systems.
Key Modules and Processes
The Beeftech system comprises several integrated sub-systems and modules:
- Abattoir: Converts livestock to protein.
- Deboning: For protein packaging and processing.
- Butchery: Deals with meat processing and sale.
- Point of Sale (POS): Handles retail sales with features like registration at log-on, wireless barcode scanning, cash slip printing, acceptance of all payment types, cents rounding, and direct interface to financial systems for account sale.
Traceability
Beeftech systems support comprehensive traceability from producer to consumer. This involves tracking:
- Product harvesting, inspection, classification, market requirements, wholesale, and deboning.
- Breeding, calving, growing, finishing, and sale.
- All data including “What” (product), “Who” (owner), “When” (time), “Where” (location), and “How” (process.
- The system utilizes various tags and labels, including e-tags, alphanumeric codes, and unique paper labels for carcases after slaughter.
Reporting and Business Intelligence (BI)
The system offers flexible and readable reporting through Business Intelligence tools, allowing users to:
- View a wide range of data efficiently.
- Drill down from summary to detail reports, even to specific animal/transaction level.
- View information as tables or graph.
- Access single-page printouts for management.
- Generate various reports including P&L, accounts, farm & feedlot audits, transaction reports, performance reports, and stock valuations.
- BIX (Business Information Xchange) serves as a data transfer mechanism and offsite data repository, capable of generating management alerts when critical parameters are exceeded.
Beeftech’s philosophy is built on providing software for all user sizes, with low-level integration, data transparency, and a commitment to research and development based on proven technology.
